Data Sources

PubMonitor combines public web signals, modeled traffic and revenue estimates, and a few third-party lookups. It has no access to private advertising accounts.

The date above is when this page was last edited, not when the data was collected.

Field provenance and missing values

A data month dates the dataset as a whole, not the moment each field was collected.

Monthly visits, growth and ranks
Monthly traffic estimates come from an upstream data supplier. Leaderboards and domain pages both use them. The supplier and its model are not disclosed. Some list fields store a missing estimate as 0, so a 0 on its own does not prove a site had no traffic.
Publisher associations
Which sites appear under a publisher ID comes from the upstream AdSense publisher index, dated by month. There is no exact first-seen or last-verified date for each site. A shared publisher ID is an observed monetization relationship, not proof of common ownership.
Registration dates
Lists use the registration date stored with the monthly data; domain pages use WHOIS. A missing date is shown as unknown.
Categories and descriptions
Categories and short descriptions are assigned upstream. When no description is stored, the page falls back to the site's public metadata or the domain name. A category describes the topic of a site, not its quality.
Revenue estimates
PubMonitor multiplies pageviews by an RPM benchmark for the site's category and visitor region. Country weighting and fallbacks are explained in Methodology. Dates on the calculator refer to the benchmark. Modeled estimate, not actual account earnings.
Domain Rating, backlinks and archive history
These come from third-party services when a page is opened, and responses are cached. A failed lookup is shown as unavailable rather than 0. If the source gives no timestamp, freshness is unknown.

1. Public Web Index

The publisher-to-site data is built upstream from publicly served pages. The checking tools on this site fetch public pages again each time you run them. To ask for a listed domain to be reviewed, email support@pubmonitor.com.

2. Traffic Estimates

Monthly visits are modeled estimates from an upstream supplier. PubMonitor displays them as delivered and does not re-run the model. A missing estimate is shown as missing.

3. Public WHOIS

Domain pages show WHOIS fields after redacting personal data where privacy rules require it. Missing fields are left out. The redaction rules are in the methodology page.

4. Public Ad-Serving Signals

The checking tools look at two kinds of public evidence: AdSense code in the served HTML and ads.txt declarations. An ads.txt line shows what a site declares, which can differ from the ads it actually serves.

5. Third-Party API Enrichment

Domain Rating and Wayback Machine snapshots come from third-party APIs, called when a page is opened. Results are cached, so repeat views reuse the last response.

6. Trademark Notice

Google, AdSense, the Google logo, and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC. PubMonitor is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. References to "AdSense" on this site identify the public ad-serving system from which signals are observed; they do not imply any commercial relationship.

Other product and company names mentioned anywhere on this site may be trademarks of their respective owners. Their use does not imply any endorsement.

7. Data You Provide

If you create an account or subscribe, we also collect the data described in our Privacy Policy. That data is kept separate from the public datasets above.
